Stuttgart, Germany - This is the first official image we've seen of Mercedes-Benz' driverless concept, due to debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.
The teaser shot is, of course, carefully lit to conceal as much detail as possible, but what we can see under a very futuristic single-volume profile (well, you could hardly call it a box, could you?) are big alloy rims and extremely short overhangs, for the largest possible cabin interior.
SKY’S THE LIMIT
There's also a definite hump on the low roof, towards the rear, which we expect will be where the cameras and radar and GPS antennae that enable the car to 'see' where it's going, are housed.
No details have been released about the interior but, as usual with concepts, the sky's the limit.
Some idea of the importance Mercedes-Benz is attaching to this concept, and the developments that could follow it, can be gathered from the fact that it will be introduced at Las Vegas on 5 January by no less a personage than Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche.
