The all-new Mini was set to be unveiled in the UK late on Monday, but not before a set of official images leaked out onto the internet.

As expected, the new hatch takes an evolutionary design approach while remaining faithful to the Vision concept that was revealed earlier this year.

As previously disclosed, the new Mini will be available with a range of BMW TwinPower engines, kicking off with the new 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbopetrol that you'll find under the bonnet of the standard Cooper model.

The three-pot mite develops 100kW and 220Nm from 1250, with up to 230Nm available on overboost.

To the contrary, the Cooper S will be upsized on the engine front, with its urge coming from a 2-litre turbopetrol that kicks out 141kW and 280Nm. Both engines will feature direct fuel injection and variable camshaft control.

The new Mini should be even more agile than its predecessors thanks to an evolved version of the current single-link spring strut front and multi-link rear suspension design.

The availability of adjustable dampers will also make it make it more adaptable to driver whims.

As always, we'll bring you more detail and specifications when Mini makes it all official, which is set to take place shortly.
