Suzuki has given its B-segment Swift hatch a nip-and-tuck for 2014 - mostly cosmetic, but with an emphasis on improved lighting and convenience features.

The most eye-catching update is its redesigned grille and bumper, which allows for the provision of LED daytime running lights as standard on the GLS models, while the entry-level GL variant gets a smart new air-intake trim - and each derivative has a new, brighter LED light unit in the high-mounted third brake light.

The GLS has a new design of alloy rim, the GL gets re-styled full wheel caps, and either is now available in a new metallic blue colour - at no extra cost.

GETTING SMARTER

Both GL and GLS models have been updated inside with a new, more contemporary fabric trim, while the GLS now has Bluetooth connectivity and cruise control (operated from switches on a new multifunction steering wheel) as standard issue.

SWIFT SPORT

The 100kW, 1.6-litre Swift Sport is unchanged, other than the inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity and cruise control, as well as a suitably upgraded steering wheel.
