Toyota's constant quest to shrug off its sensible shoes image continues unabated at the Sema show for modified rides, which kicks off in Las Vegas in early November.

STYLE & SOUND

Style, sound and motorsport are the recurring themes this year and to lend a hand in the former arts, Toyota enlisted the help of DUB magazine to give the new Yaris and Sienna MPV some serious pimping. Both sport bold wide-body styling kits complete with widened fenders and huge rims - measuring 20 inches in the case of the Yaris and 22” for the Sienna. Inside you'll find an array of speakers and amps to kill even the strongest eardrums. Same goes for the Sienna Remix, which is basically a giant boom box on wheels.

DESERT CONQUERERS

Toyota is also using SEMA to show off its new Tundra TRD Desert Race Truck, which will see Toyota returning to the gruelling Baja 1000 race in Mexico from November 12-16. The racing machine, which is likely powered by a modified version of the street-spec Tundra's 5.7-litre V8, will compete in the full size stock class.

Backing it up during the race will be a tastefully pimped array of 'chase vehicles' also emanating from the TRD racing division's garages.
