German driver Adrian Sutil says he would like to stay at Force India for the 2014 season after returning with the team this season following a year out of Formula One.

“If I do my job well and they are happy, there will be good possibilities to stay. Sahara Force India will be the first team we talk with about the 2014 season,” Sutil told the Formula One website in an interview published on Tuesday.

Sutil, 30, was dropped by Force India for the 2012 season when Paul di Resta and Nico Huelkenberg were named the team's drivers.

“We had a very strong start to the season.” He returned this season to partner Di Resta, finished seventh in Australia in the season's opening race and was fifth in Monaco, so far picking up a total of 23 points.

Di Resta finished fourth in Bahrain and has 36 points, but results for the team in recents races in Germany and Hungary were disappointing.

“For the past few races it's much closer in the midfield so the tension is up,” Sutil said, “but there should be some circuits in the second half where we can be strong again.”
