Seems Sarf Effrica is not the only place that has a problem with people driving while chemically challenged.

The United States' National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has spent $7.5 million (R78.5 million) on a new advertising campaign aimed at discouraging Americans from drinking and driving, under the slogan 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over'.

And the first video stars the one patrolman nobody wants to get pulled over by: Robocop!

The commercial, which seems to be half public service announcement and half movie trailer, also features Samuel L Jackson and Joel Kinnaman in clips from the new Robocop sci-fi action film, due out early in 2014, with the Bionic Bobby sniffing out drunk drivers and pulling them over, to the accompaniment of memorable lines such as: "Be ready to move in at my request," and, to a wide-eyed driver: "I'd put those down right now if I were you."

Mind you, in a culture where the most-quoted catch-line is "Go ahead, make my day," that probably qualifies as deathless prose.
