Nissan's luxury division wants to fight its German rivals on as many fronts as possible and the next frontier is the compact softroader market.

This new QX30 crossover, and its Q30 hatchback sister, will extend the Renault-Nissan group's ties with Mercedes-Benz and it's reported that the vehicles will be based on the A-Class/GLA platform and will likely also use a selection of Merc's four-cylinder engines.

Yet the only 'official' clues we have for now come in the form of this teaser picture of the QX30 Concept car that will make its Debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

In Infiniti's own words, the QX30 Concept “aims to reignite the premium compact segment with a distinctive approach to design that looks beyond the practicality and conformity expected of the segment.”

To that end, the vehicle aims to blend coupé style with a rugged design twist and that commanding seating position that one expects from a crossover vehicle.
