Johannesburg - The biennial Johannesburg International Motor Show is setting its wheels in motion for 2015. Celebrating its 10th birthday in October, Africa’s biggest automotive event promises to have something for every petrolhead.

National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa director Nico Vermeulen said: “Preparations are well underway to ensure a spectacular show.

“We’ve introduced a number of new initiatives,” he added, “one of which is a Galleria - an entire hall dedicated to supercars and exotics, displayed in a setting designed to look like an art gallery. Also featured in the Galleria will be a photographic exhibition by some of South Africa’s leading automotive photographers.

THE CAR AS ART

Continuing to celebrate the car as a form of art, the biennial show will also honour artists who dedicate their lives to the art of cars,while personalities from Ignition TV will add extrta flavour, entertaining visitors with presentations and discussions of newly-launched models.

The Johannesburg International Motor Show, South Africa’s motoring jewel, has received acreditation from the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles as one of the world’s major international motoring shows.

It will run from Friday 16 to Sunday 25 October 2015 at Johannesburg Expo Centre; tickets go on sale in April and will be available at the 2015 Rand Show or from Computicket. No ticket prices are available yet.
