Vienna - A young Austrian driver offered an original excuse for speeding in an attempt to keep his driving license when police stopped him near Innsbruck, Austrian press agency APA reported on Wednesday. He told the officers on Tuesday he had been driving at 171km/h instead of the allowed 100 on a freeway because he wanted to dry off his freshly washed car.
Police were apparently not impressed and relieved the 20-year-old of his driving licence.
