Tuning companies that make their mark on German cars are a dime a dozen these days, but just about everyone sits up and takes notice when AC Schnitzer puts a BMW in its automotive oven.

They may not churn out the most outrageous cars - in terms of output or style - but it's a well-trusted name known for doing things in a fairly tasteful way.

AC's latest project saw BMW's M6 range (which includes the Coupé, Convertible and four-door Gran Coupé) come in for some pimping.

While BMW insists that its M badge stands for 'motorsport', AC Schnitzer feels that there's a double meaning that involves the word 'more.'

MORE WALLOP

In this case that means an engine conversion that pushes the maximum output of the M6's turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 up from 412kW/680Nm to 456kW and 790Nm. The top speed nanny disappears too, allowing it to run to 305km/h.

There's also more acoustic pleasure, thanks to the sports rear silencer that's available with or without flap control.

A suspension spring kit lowers the car by 15mm in the front and 25mm at the back and a glut of exterior components aid aerodynamics, reduce weight and give the car a more aggressive pose on the road.

To be specific, the models sport a carbon front spoiler, revised grille, rear spoiler (on the Coupé) and a carbon rear diffuser. Buyers can choose between a set of 20-inch or 21-inch bespoke alloy wheels.

"More dynamics, More sportiness and More elegance," is how the tuner summarises its latest work.
