A full-on German civil war awaits race fans at Zwartkops Raceway this weekend as the Bridgestone Production Car championship goes down to the wire in the year's final race.

Will Johan Fourie in the Alcohol Killer BMW 335i convert his 11 point advantage into championship victory, and break the stranglehold that Michael Stephen in the Engen Xtreme Audi S4 has had on class A of the series for the last three seasons?

With 35 points on offer it is still anyone's game but the smart money is arguably on Fourie, who has driven immaculately this year, and not put a foot wrong. The same could be said for Stephen however who once again has shown that he's the complete package. If he wins a fourth title on the trot it'll be unprecedented.

CLASS T WALK-OVER

In class T, Graeme Nathan in the VW Genuine Parts clinched his third in a row with a round to spare, the big man from Kyalami now the holder of five crowns in total in the series. It has been a roller-coaster ride, yet he's always landed on his feet and gone home with a good tally of points. In fact, he's led the championship from start to finish.

Clearly, more work needs to be done by his rivals and Ford, MINI and Chevrolet have each had a moment or two of glory this year but none have been able to get it together consistently. The stiffest challenge has come from Gary Formato, who has written his name on the class T trophy twice in recent years (2011 and 2009) but there was a lack of consistency and reliability in 2014.

POLOS AND V8s IN ACTION

Saturday's racing action includes the SA Sports and V8 Supercars, where the latter championship is also balanced on a knife edge, with Ben Morgenrood (Mustang) on 111 points and Franco di Matteo (Jaguar) on 101.

As with the production cars and V8s, the Volkswagen Cup Championship hangs in the balance too, with just 12 points separating Sheldon van der Linde, Dewald Brummer and Daniel Rowe.

The action takes place at Zwartkops Raceway, near Pretoria, between 10am and 5pm; cost of entry is R80 for adults, R60 for students and kids under 12 enter for free. Directions here .
