Stig will bungee-jump 120m in F1 car

Some say he keeps his brain at home in a jar. All we know is, he will drop 120 metres straight down in a Lotus F1 car at the Top Gear Festival in Durban this weekend.

Durban - Some say he flosses his teeth with bungee cord and uses Velcro to keep his socks up; all we know he's called The Stig, and he'll be attempting a world-first stunt at this weekend's Top Gear Festival at the Moses Mabhida stadium involving a Lotus Formula One car and a 120-metre bungee.

Recently released footage on YouTube showed The Stig breaking into the Lotus factory and changing delivery instructions for the F1 car to Durban for the Top Gear Festival for the ultimate bungee jump, from a 120-metre high crane.

Produced with the help of the Lotus F1 Team, the custom-built stunt, which will see car dropping 120 metres straight down with The Stig behind the wheel, will take place on both days, live at the Festival.

HIGH-OCTANE ENTERTAINMENT

And for those that can't be there to watch it unfold, we'll have footage of the stunt in the weeks following.

The Festival format provides fans with a full day of action, from high-speed thrills on the custom-built street circuit and the arena show in the iconic Moses Mabhida stadium to the colour and the spectacle of the people's park, which is also where The Stig will make his leap of faith.

A variety of ticket types for this weekend's Festival are still available, starting at R260; for more information or to book, visit the Festival website .
