Those of us who said the GT86 was a wussy little two-litre girly-car have been swiftly put in our place as Toyota and its competition partner, Gazoo Racing, prepare to put the stylish coupé where their mouths are.
Just for starters, Gazoo has prepared a GT86 to S2000 spec for the Japanese Rally championship - now wouldn't that put the cat amongst the Polos and Fiestas if we could get one here?
NURBURGRING 24-HOUR
Then there's a pair of GT86's in endurance racing trim that have been entered in the infamous Nurburgring 24-Hour race, on the third weekend in May.
They'll be sharing a pit with the Gazoo Racing Lexus LF-A.
And then, from 29 June to 1 July, one of the endurance racers will be howling up and down the famous Goodwood Hill at the 2012 Festival of Speed.
