Lagos - At least five South African church groups were in a guest house at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria, which collapsed, the government said on Monday night.

It added that South African diplomats in Lagos were trying to establish if any of the South Africans had been killed or injured.

“The Department of International Relations and Co-operation is closely monitoring the tragic event at a guest house at the Synagogue, Church of All Nations, in Lagos, Nigeria,” the government said.

The Associated Press reported that at least 46 people were killed when a shopping mall and guest house collapsed.
