Lusaka - A South African farm manager is suspected of causing an accident where more than 50 people died near Lusaka, Zambia, the SABC reported on Friday.

Zambia police spokeswomen Elizabeth Kangela told the public broadcaster a vehicle, a bus, and a truck were involved in the accident.

The vehicle, supposedly belonging to the South African, tried to overtake the bus and collided with the oncoming truck.

“He [the man] is believed to be South African. He is receiving treatment at the moment so we have not charged him yet,” Kangela said.

Agence France Presse reported on Thursday that the bus, carrying 73 people, and the truck collided, killing 53 people. - Sapa
