A dog that switched on a record player alarmed his elderly Austrian owner and led to the deployment of firefighters early on Wednesday, the commander of the fire brigade in Marchtrenk said.
The woman who owned the dog was roused from her sleep by hissing noises, commander Markus Ortmair said.
Fearing that the sound came from a damaged gas pipe, she called the fire brigade in the western Austrian town.
When the firefighters arrived, it turned out that the hunting dog had likely switched on the record player with his paw.
The sound came from the needle reaching the end of an easy listening record. - Sapa-dpa
