Johannesburg - A witness list of people currently in prison, a dodgy sports car “payment” and a rock-solid alibi.

These are some of the things adduced in court on Wednesday in support of a Radovan Krejcir associate who is applying for the State’s case to be thrown out of court.

Brendan Harrison was arrested in July for allegedly being part of a plot to kill Krejcir.

The alleged plot was detailed in an affidavit submitted by investigating officer David Mothibi in Harrison’s bail application in August to the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.

According to the affidavit, Harrison and his Money Point colleague, Michael Arsiotis, had allegedly roped in a man named Tony to help them.

But Tony informed Krejcir’s business manager, Ivan Savov – who is in custody after being arrested for alleged money laundering and fraud - of the plan.

The affidavit said Savov was handed photos of Krejcir’s “movements”, which indicated Harrison and Arsiotis had been spying on the Czech.

Krejcir was informed and met Tony, who told him he was hired by one Tim Fuhrmann.

In court, Harrison and his legal representative, advocate Jack Gerber, have repeatedly said Harrison wasn’t even in the country at the time of the alleged assassination plot.

The court was due to hear on Thursday whether the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions will drop the charges against Harrison.
