The scene outside the Ventersdorp High Court was calm on Tuesday morning, ahead of the second day of the trial of two farmworkers accused of killing Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging leader Eugene Terre'Blanche.
A small group of AWB supporters were gathered outside the court on Tuesday.
On Monday a much larger group, dressed in camouflage uniforms, played Afrikaans music from cars draped in AWB regalia. About 100 metres away, a group of local residents sang President Jacob Zuma's trademark Awulethu’ Mshini Wami (bring me my machine gun). Police warned the two groups to quieten down.
Chris Mahlangu and a minor are accused of beating and hacking the former AWB leader to death in his farmhouse in North West in April 2010.
Both have pleaded not guilty to murder, housebreaking, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Mahlangu claims he acted in self defence. The teenager has denied involvement in the crime.
On Monday Terre' Blanche's wife Martie testified that the relationship between her husband and the two employees had been healthy.
She will continue her testimony and faces cross-examination early on Tuesday morning. - Sapa
