Durban - A murder suspect was shot dead outside the Umlazi court in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Monday morning, police said.
“At approximately 11am, a 43-year-old man was at Umlazi Court premises when he was approached by three suspects. It is alleged that one of the suspects pulled out his firearm and fatally shot the man,” said KZN police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane.
The man sustained seven gunshot wounds and died on the scene.
“The suspects fled the scene on foot. The motive for killing is still unknown and no arrest has been made at this stage,” said Zwane.
Police opened a case of murder and urged the public to provide any information on the whereabouts of the suspects by calling the Umlazi police station or by dialing 08600 10111.
