Johannesburg - The ANC is to blame for the death of a man killed during service delivery protests in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg, his brother said on Thursday.
“No ANC politicians are welcome here, they killed my brother like a dog,” said Paseka Rabolila.
His 27-year-old brother Lerata was shot dead during a service delivery protest on Wednesday, allegedly by a group of ANC supporters.
Rabolila said: “A group of people wearing ANC T-shirts came out of nowhere and started attacking us and one of them fired several shots at us.”
People wearing ANC T-shirts parked their minibuses at a nearby filling station and started moving towards the protesting residents of Boiketlong, he said.
“We put the ANC in power, and now it kills us like dogs... I will never vote for the ANC for as long as I live.”
Residents gathered under a railway bridge on Thursday, where they burnt tyres and barricaded roads.
Police were keeping watch.
