Johannesburg - The bail hearing of murder accused Retief Liebenberg was postponed in the Benoni Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Liebenberg, of Benoni, Johannesburg, was arrested last Thursday for allegedly shooting his daughter Chevonne's boyfriend, 19-year-old Dewalt “Poena” Visser, and the teenager's father Dewalt, 46, in his home.

He faces two counts of murder.

Investigating officer Peter Mbonani testified that Liebenberg shot Visser and his son at his home.

Poena had been visiting Chevonne and later called his father and told him Liebenberg was holding him hostage.

His father was shot five times on the front of the upper body. His teenage son had run to the kitchen and was shot there.

The two were certified dead at the scene.

The murder scene was found to have been tampered with, Mbonani told the court.

He said the number of bullet holes on the walls did not match the number of cartridges found on the scene.

Magistrate Ian Cox postponed the matter to November 15 for ballistic evidence to be available for the court.

Liebenberg would remain at the Benoni police station cells.
