Johannesburg - The case against Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir's wife Katerina Krejcirova and his son Dennis was withdrawn in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Thursday, the NPA said.

“We assessed the case as the NPA, and took a decision that a case could not be established based on the information in the docket,” National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Nathi Mncube said.

The case was referred back to the police for further investigation.

“If they find any further evidence, they can refer the matter back to us and we will decide on whether to take the matter further,” said Mncube.

Krejcirova was arrested as she attended the bail application of her husband at the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court in February. Dennis Krejcir was arrested shortly thereafter. The pair were later released on a warning.

At the time of Krejcirova's arrest, her husband's lawyer Piet du Plessis said she had been held in connection with an allegedly stolen car found on the couple's Vaal property.

During the court proceedings, however, the State alleged that Krejcirova and Dennis had bought a Volkswagen Amarok using falsified documents.
