Chabane crash driver gets R5 000 bail

Johannesburg - The truck driver accused of causing the crash in which public service and administration minister Collins Chabane and his two bodyguards died, was granted R5000 bail on Tuesday, eNCA reported.

Amukelani Rikhotso appeared briefly in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court in Limpopo on three charges of culpable homicide. The case was postponed to May 15.

Chabane, and sergeants Lesiba Sekele and Lawrence Lentsoane died when a truck made a U-turn in front of their car on the N1 between Mokopane and Polokwane in the early hours of Sunday, March 15.
