Tzaneen - A Limpopo man was sentenced to 20 years in jail by the Tzaneen Magistrate's Court on Friday for raping a young girl.
Daniel Stoffie Ngobeni, 20, from Ga-Sekgopo village outside Tzaneen, was convicted and sentenced on Friday for raping an 11-year-old girl in 2013, provincial police spokesman Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.
The girl was walking home with her friends from church when Ngobeni approached them with a knife. He threatened them and the girls ran. Ngobeni grabbed the victim, took her home and raped her.
