Durban - A lovers' quarrel turned deadly in a Durban shopping mall on Thursday when a policeman shot his girlfriend and then himself, police said.
The two were arguing in the Pavillion mall shortly after midday before the police officer took out his gun, Captain Thulani Zwane said.
Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said the two were declared dead at the mall, one of Durban's busiest. Nobody else was injured.
