Johannesburg - A Hillbrow policeman was shot dead and another was wounded in Joubert Park, in the Johannesburg CBD, on Wednesday evening, police said.
The policemen were leaving a block of flats when they were shot, said Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini. Both were shot in the upper body.
Dlamini said a 30-year-old sergeant died on the scene. A 37-year-old reservist was wounded and was taken to hospital.
He said the sergeant was in police uniform, and the reservist was in civilian clothes. - Sapa
