Welkom – Free State police have launched a manhunt after an elderly man was murdered in Welkom.
On Friday, August 28, Johanes van Zyl’s body was discovered in the garage of his home in Riebeeckstad.
His hands and feet had been bound, and he had scratches on his hands, said Constable Kethabile Mofokeng.
It is believed the 72-year-old was strangled as he had no wounds on his body, but a rope was found next to him, said Mofokeng.
