According to Naicker, police proceeded to the identified location where they found four suspects who were allegedly involved in a robbery on a house in the Newcastle area.
“A motor bike suspected to be taken during the robbery was seized from the suspects,” Naicker said. “Police also seized three cellphones, a TV set and DVD player. All four suspects, aged between 19 and 23 years will appear in the Newcastle magistrates court on Wednesday on robbery charges.”
Naicker said on 19 July, at approximately 8pm, the victim was in the Kilbarchan area, Newcastle, when he was accosted by a group of suspects. He was allegedly assaulted with a panga and forced into a room. The suspects took cell phones, a motorbike and other items before fleeing the scene in their getaway vehicle.
