Cops probe Grade R’s school rape

Cape Town - Western Cape police were on Tuesday investigating the alleged rape of a five-year-old girl by three grade two boys at a school in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain.

The five-year-old grade R pupil was allegedly raped on March 4

in the grounds of a primary school in the area, said Captain Frederick van Wyk.

The girl was waiting for transport home from school when the boys approached her.

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit were probing the incident, he said.

“Due to the sensitive nature of the alleged incident we are not in a position to comment any further. However, the investigation is ongoing.”
