Johannesburg - A helicopter that crashed near Rand Airport on the East Rand was a Matrix Vehicle Tracking helicopter, MiX Telematics Africa said on Thursday.
“MiX Telematics are aware of the incident that took place this afternoon where we confirm that it was a Matrix Vehicle Tracking helicopter, operated by Henley Air, which has crashed,” said managing director Brendan Horan.
Two men who were returning from a vehicle recovery died in the crash.
MiX Telematics and the civil aviation authority were investigating the accident.
