Cape Town - Honeymoon murder accused Shrien Dewani had erection problems, the Western Cape High Court heard on Tuesday morning.
This, according State witness Sneha Mashru, affected his sex life with his new wife, Anni Hindocha, whose murder Dewani stands accused of.
Mashru, who was Anni's cousin and confidante, is under cross examination by the defence.
In her evidence-in-chief on Monday, she told the court that Anni was unhappy and wanted to divorce Shrien.
But defence advocate Francois van Zyl SC put it to her that, looking at the relationship from Dewani's perspective, Anni was happy, wanted to have his chidren and even sent his mother an SMS to say that she was having a “great time” on honeymoon in South Africa.
In addition, the fact that Anni spoke to a doctor in Bristol in the UK about falling pregnant quickly, flew in the face of what Mashru had testified.
Mashru, however, was adamant that her cousin was unhappy.
She said Anni had told her during the three-day wedding process in India that she and Dewani had agreed to pretend that they were happy.
She added that she knew that Dewani suffered from erectile dysfunction, which affected the couple's sex life.
In addition, Anni took very strong acne medication and was advised that she should take a double dose of contraception because it was dangerous to fall pregnant while on the medication.
The trial continues.
