Johannesburg - Dolly Tshabalala had twice visited Jabulani police station with the intention to open a domestic violence case against her DJ boyfriend.

But she would change her mind and return to the arms of Donald Sebolai, who is on trial at the high court sitting in Palm Ridge for allegedly killing her.

The couple’s friend Palesa Matladi Seseli, who took the witness box as the State’s fourth witness, said she had twice gone with Tshabalala to the police station after Sebolai had allegedly hit her.

She was given J88 forms (medical forms to be completed by her doctor) on both occasions, but instead of returning the paperwork, she went back to her lover.

Sebolai and Tshabalala allegedly had an argument during which he apparently stabbed her with a knife.

Sebolai allegedly cleaned the floor, threw her bloodied clothing into the bin, packed his belongings and the knife, and fled.

Seseli said that the first time Tshabalala had come to her with a bleeding nose, claiming Sebolai had assaulted her.

Tshabalala and Seseli went to the police station, where Tshabalala was given a J88 form, and they returned to Seseli’s house, where Tshabalala spent the night.

She said she was surprised when the couple visited her later that afternoon.

“She told me that Donald had apologised.”

In another incident, the couple, together with Seseli and another friend of Sebolai, were at a tavern when another argument broke out.

Seseli alleges that Sebolai had attacked Tshabalala, herself and his friend. She said Sebolai had found Tshabalala’s belt untied while she was resting inside her car with the friend. The DJ was furious.

Seseli said she and Tshabalala went to the police station again to lay a charge.

Once again the J88 forms were handed to Tshabalala.

Seseli said she had no idea whether her friend had visited a doctor that time.

The trial continues.
