Drugs worth R4m confiscated

Cape Town - Western Cape police have seized a variety of drugs worth more than R4-million.

Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said K9 police searched a cooler truck on Saturday and arrested a 41-year-old male suspect .

The man was found in possession of six boxes containing 59 000 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R2 950 000 and 3.358kg of tik with an estimated street value of R1 175 300.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, police in the Karoo, assisted by K9 police, received information of a person transporting dagga in a train.

A preliminary investigation was conducted and it led to the arrest of a 37-year-old female suspect for the possession of 25kg of dagga worth around R50 000 on the street.
