Cape Town - An explosion rocked the popular Mitchells Plain nightclub, Tiffany’s Jazz Café, early on Monday morning.

Tiffany’s is on the corner of Anna-Marie and Morgenster roads, near Lentegeur and is usually open from 8pm till late. But at about 3am on Monday, news of the explosion broke on social network platforms, including the Traffic Fines, cameras and updates in Western Cape page on Facebook.

It continued to be updated by those living near the nightclub.

Timothy IamTimmy Nelson posted: “Just drove past Tiffanys in Morgenster, cops on scene, medics on scene and a large crowd on scene, can anyone please tell me what happened?”

Shanaaz Abdullah responded to Nelson’s post: “No one got hurt. The owner and his daughter were alone in the place. The bomb was thrown in front of the doors. Some damage was done to the building.”

Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk could not confirm the incident at the time of publication.
