Kimberley - A 16-year-old boy appears in the Northern Cape High Court again on Tuesday, charged with a triple murder in Griquatown.

Last week, the court heard testimony from a number of Griquatown policemen involved in the investigation of the murders of farmer Deon Steenkamp, 44, his wife Christel, 43, and daughter Marthella, 14.

The three were shot dead on their farm Naauwhoek on April 6, 2012.

The court did an in-loco inspection of the farm on Monday.

The judge, court personnel, the prosecuting team, the defence and media followed case investigator Colonel Dick de Waal along a badly-maintained gravel road to the farm nine kilometres outside town.

The hour-and-a-half long in-loco inspection ended with a walk through the house.

This was the first time the media had been allowed on the farm since the murders.

The youth has pleaded not guilty to the three murder charges, a charge of rape, and one of defeating the ends of justice.

Cases involving minors are usually held in-camera, but several media houses have been granted permission to cover the case.
