Nelspruit - Mpumalanga police on Tuesday appealed for help after a woman and infant were found dead in KwaMhlanga and Siyabuswa.

Residents found the bodies on Monday, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said in a statement.

A shepherd found the body of Nomoya Phetla, 28, under a bridge in KwaMhlanga. She had been reported missing the previous day after she went jogging and never returned. There were injuries on her face, which had been covered with plastic.

Mohlala said the decomposing body of the infant, aged about six months, was found under a tree next to a river at Maganagobuswa in Siyabuswa's Section A.

No arrests had been made in both cases and post mortems would be conducted to determine the causes of death.
