Rustenburg - A 15-year-old homeless boy was stabbed to death in Klerksdorp by another teenager, North West police said on Wednesday.

Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said the boy, only known as Thabang, was stabbed on Tuesday near the traffic department in Klerksdorp.

“According to the information received, there were five boys (street kids) between the ages of 13 and 19 who waited for the soft porridge that was prepared by the victim. It is alleged that the suspect demanded the soft porridge and an argument ensued between the boys and one of them gave the suspect the knife and he stabbed the victim on the neck.”

The boy fell down, bled heavily and the two boys ran away, said Moleko.

“One of the boys ran to Klerksdorp hospital, which was not far from the scene, to request for medical assistance for the victim. The emergency medical services attended to the scene and the victim was certified dead,” she said.

Moleko said police were still looking for the perpetrator.
