Johannesburg - A Soweto woman allegedly caught with 2kg of tik while hitch-hiking to Cape Town appeared in the Beaufort West Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Ntombentsha Nxodo, 42, was charged with dealing in drugs and the possession of mandrax and tik and her case was postponed to December 30, Captain Malcolm Pojie said in a statement.

She would remain in custody until then.

She was hitch-hiking from Johannesburg to Cape Town when she got a lift in an Iveco bus. Police stopped and searched the bus on the N1 near Beaufort West around 6am on Tuesday.

Officers allegedly found 10 packets of tik with an estimated street value of R911 300 and five mandrax tablets in her bag. - Sapa
