Johannesburg - Katerina Krejcirova, the wife of Czech businessman Radovan Krejcir, has been arrested at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning, in connection with a stolen car – and a fraud scheme.

According to Hawks spokesman Captain Paul Ramoloko, Krejcirova will be charged – firstly – with possession of a stolen vehicle seized at her Bedfordview home last week.

Krejcir's wife was at the court to attend her husband's appearance on a kidnapping and attempted murder charge.

Ramoloko said that she was set to appear at the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday, but not on just a single charge.

“We are set to add fraud charges as well, but we cannot talk about the nature of these charges yet,” he said on Friday morning.

He also added that Krejcirova will not appear alone, as another arrest will be made this weekend.

Forensic consultant Paul O’Sullivan, who has been a part of the investigation into Krejcir, also weighed in on the arrest.

He said that it was “wholly unacceptable” for any man’s wife to collude and cooperate with Krejcir’s allegedly untoward business dealings, and that he was also having steps taken to ensure other arrests were effected this weekend.

"We regard it (her arrest) as malicious," said Piet du Plessis, Krejcir's lawyer.
