Durban - Two mayoral bodyguards accused of attempted murder appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court on Monday, the National Prosecuting Authority said.

Thulasizwe Mbanjwa and Sthembiso Mokoena would be back in court on December 12 to decide if the NPA would proceed with prosecution, said KwaZulu-Natal NPA spokeswoman Natasha Ramkisson.

The two bodyguards allegedly shot at a motorist on the N3 last month while escorting Umgungundlovu district mayor Yusuf Bhamjee.
