Cape Town - Twenty people have been arrested for public violence in Langa, Cape Town, during a service delivery protest, Western Cape police said.

“Police are monitoring and maintaining law and order at the moment. It is believed the protest is about service delivery,” Warrant Officer Derek van der Merwe said.

Police were notified early in the morning about the protest and would remain on the scene until it ended.

The situation by late Wednesday afternoon was stable, Van der Merwe said.
