Bloemfontein – Two rapists received life sentences each in the Koffiefontein Regional Court, Free State police said on Friday.
“Since they’ve been found guilty of raping underage girls, their names will be recorded in the sexual offences register, “ the police said in a statement.
On Thursday, Enos Oliphant, 30, was handed a life sentence for raping a 15-year-old girl in June 2012.
SAPS said the incident happened in Jacobsdal when the victim went looking for her sister at a local tavern.
“Oliphant grabbed the victim on her way back from the tavern and dragged her to his father house, which was under construction at the time and raped her,” police said.
On Tuesday, Steven Mojakisane, 28, received a life sentence for raping a mentally disabled 13-year-old girl in September 2013.
“Mojakisane was visiting a farm in Koffiefontein, where the victim’s father is employed. The perpetrator’s wife discovered what her husband had done after she heard the teenager screaming.” the police said.
She went to investigate and saw her husband pulling up his trousers, while the victim was lying on the bed.
