Durban - A woman had a close shave with hijackers as she drove in to a friend’s driveway in Pinetown.

Pine-Ridge Neighbourhood Watch, which has not revealed the victim’s identity, described her as brave and quick thinking.

According to the group, the woman drove up to her friend’s home in Frara Drive on Wednesday afternoon.

She looked in her rear-view mirror and noticed a black Toyota Yaris.

Three men jumped out of it. She began to close her windows when one of the men stuck his hand through to grab her keys.

She managed to jam his hand between the window and door frame.

She saw a gun aimed at her head and ducked in the nick of time as he fired.

The gunman pulled out his hand and ran off.

She was able to drive away unharmed. Pinetown police are investigating.
