Cape Town - A 45-year-old man is expected to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court, Cape Town, on Monday on a charge of possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition, Western Cape Police said.
The SA Police Service Blue Downs cluster gang unit followed-up on information received on Thursday and searched a house in Goodeve Street, Wesbank, spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said in a statement.
The officers found a Remington 870 Express Shotgun and three rounds of ammunition hidden in a jacket, he said.
“A 45-year-old male was arrested and is due to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Monday… on charges of possession of [an] unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” Van Wyk said.
