Willowvale - A 23-year-old man was arrested in Willowvale, Eastern Cape, for the assault and rape of his ex-girlfriend, police said on Saturday.
Spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said the man arrived at his ex-girlfriend's home at Qwaninga Village in Willowvale early Friday evening and started assaulting her.
He dragged her to his home, severely assaulted her, and raped her throughout the night.
He let her go on Saturday morning and the 19-year-old woman laid a charge of rape against him.
Willowvale police tracked him down and he was arrested before 9am.
He is expected to appear in court on Monday.
