Johannesburg - A man who allegedly stole a cellphone from an accident scene has been arrested in Marble Hall, Limpopo police said on Tuesday.
The accident between a car and motorbike happened on Monday, said Constable Lethunya Mmuroa.
“People rushed to the scene. This suspect [allegedly] took a cellular phone and inserted it inside his pocket,” he said.
“One of the people who were at the scene saw him and alerted the police on their arrival. He was searched and the phone was [allegedly] found inside his pocket.”
Mmuroa said the phone was switched off and when police asked him to turn it on he did not know the password.
“He was arrested and he is expected to appear in court soon.”
One person was injured in the accident and taken to hospital. - Sapa
