Johannesburg - A man was arrested for alleged possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition at Skiet informal settlement in Butterworth on Tuesday, Eastern Cape police said.
“The firearm will be sent for ballistic testing to verify if the weapon was used in the commission of crime around Butterworth and other areas. The serial number of the firearm has been scratched,” said Captain Jackson Manatha.
He said the 22-year-old man would appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. - Sapa
