Kimberley - A 30-year-old man appeared in the Kimberley Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with the kidnap, rape and murder of a five-year-old girl, the NPA said.
“He will appear again on the February 9 for a formal bail application,” National Prosecuting Authority Northern Cape spokeswoman Mashudu Malabi said.
The man, who has not yet been asked to plead, faces one count of kidnapping, two counts of rape, and one of murder.
Rachel Berandt, five, went missing from her home on November 29. Her body was found the following day.
