A Mozambican has been killed by a compatriot in an argument over R100 in Ga-Phahla village near Marble Hall, Mpumalanga police said on Monday.
A 44-year-old man visited his countryman in his rented room around 3pm on Sunday, Constable Busi Mtshweni said.
While drinking together, the 30-year-old man asked for R100 owed to him by his visitor. An argument broke out between the pair.
“The older man pulled out a knife and stabbed his compatriot two times.”
He was declared dead on the scene. Police arrested the man a few hours later in the same village.
He was expected to face a murder charge in the Mdutjana Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. – Sapa
