Bloemfontein - Three men have been arrested for allegedly stealing 50 pigs and their fodder from a property in Welkom, Free State police said on Thursday.

The men, aged 23, 25, and 37, were arrested on Wednesday after pigs were stolen from the Steynwyk Piggery, said Captain Stephen Thakeng.

Twenty four of the pigs, identified by a tattoo, were found on an Adamsonflei farm.

“A tip-off was received and followed up which led to the seizure of pigs with the empty bags where pig's food was kept,” said Thakeng.

The men would appear in the Welkom Magistrate's Court on Friday.
